"Music is a form of expression. It offers a sense of achievement when you can express yourself through your own singing voice. I help my students develop that connection, allowing them to discover their unique musical personalities. Training the singing voice involves ingraining muscle memory through specific adjustments in breathing and abdominal muscle engagement. My goal is to ensure that every student's journey in music is an enriching and a transformative experience."

The Story

Gaythri SG, the founder of G3 Studios, is a Mezzo Soprano with a Master’s in Music Education and Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, and a B.A. (Hons) in Western Vocal Performance from Middlesex University, London. Gaythri began her musical journey in childhood with Carnatic music, before transitioning to Western Classical music in 2009 at KM Music Conservatory, where she completed her foundation and diploma courses in Western Classical Vocal Performance.

During her time at KM, Gaythri performed in various chamber ensembles, opera productions, and tours across India and Germany, including the celebrated 'Classic Incantations' with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra, conducted by Matt Dunkley. Her extensive performance experience has profoundly shaped her approach to vocal training, blending technical expertise with artistic expression, and inspiring her students to fully explore the potential of their voices.

Gaythri also served as a Western Vocal Faculty member at KM Music Conservatory for three years, teaching students ranging in age from 4 to 50. Her vision for G3 Studios is to create an active performing platform for her students in Chennai, encouraging them to explore and develop their full musical potential.

Gaythri’s broad experience includes a role with the Bromley Youth Music Trust on an education placement during her Master’s studies in London, where she had the opportunity to teach in various primary schools. She has studied with renowned soprano Patricia Rozario, with whom she performed in Con Brio 2015 in Mumbai. Gaythri has played major roles in operas such as 'Il Matrimonio Segreto', 'Cosi fan tutte', and 'Le nozze di Figaro', and has performed alongside the English Touring Opera at Blackheath Halls, London in 2016 and 2017. In September 2018, she presented a seminar on 'Indian and Western Classical Voice' at the National University of Singapore’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Gaythri's notable performances also include 'Songs of the Heart', a concert series organized by Akademia in collaboration with Alliance Française of India, where she performed alongside French and Indian musicians in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai.

In July 2019, G3 Studios proudly presented its first Musical Theatre and Opera Production, 'Voce Teatro', featuring its own students, at the Alliance Française of Madras. G3 Studios has been consistently organizing two concerts each year since 2018, continuing this tradition through to 2025.
